Join us at the Adirondack Experience on August 17 from 7-8:30 for another installment of our Wednesday Evening Series! Crackin’ Foxy is a ukulele-driven ensemble featuring close vocal harmony and tight instrumental arrangements. The Saranac Lake—based quintet is inspired by Traditional New Orleans Jazz, but plays with a fresh and joyful energy all its own. Influences include the Boswell Sisters, Annette Hanshaw, and Django Reinhardt as well as Vaudeville and Hawaiian music of the early 20th century.
This is a free concert. Pre-registration required.
Grounds open at 6:30. Bring your own chairs and/or blankets. Wine, beer & refreshments will be available for purchase. Picnicking is permitted.
About the Performers: Mark Hofschneider founded Crackin’ Foxy in 2010 after his wife suggested he play less clawhammer banjo and more ukulele. Hofschneider, bassist Russ Mulvey, Bobby Davis and Alex Marklund arrange hot rhythms and solos against fast swing tempos to highlight the vocal harmonies of Sarah Curtis and Redia Spada.
