ADKX is seeking an entrepreneurial professional to develop, manage, and implement marketing and public relations strategies that will result in audience growth, increased visibility, and sustained philanthropic giving. The incumbent will be responsible for utilizing a wide variety of strategies, including social media, to promote ADKX’s exhibitions, special projects, events, programs, and institutional goals and objectives. The incumbent will be responsible for the ongoing promotion of a new brand identity adopted in 2017 to help increase visitation and ADKX’s percentage of new versus repeat visitors. The Director of Marketing and Public Relations will report to the Executive Director and supervise 1-2 employees. S/he will be a member of the senior management team and also work with a board Marketing and Public Relations Committee and outside consultants. The salary is competitive and benefits excellent.
Candidates must have 5-10 years’ experience in the marketing and/or public relations fields – preferably with a museum, cultural organization, or other not-for-profit. A BA is required, with a major preferred in one of the following fields: marketing, communications, advertising, or public relations. Experience developing and implementing marketing and public relations plans required. Must have demonstrated knowledge and experience working with websites to reach audiences and the ability to work effectively with various forms of media.
