Under the supervision of the School Programs Manager, the Outreach Educator position encompasses the presentation and support of programs that interpret the museum’s exhibits and collections for school audiences and the general public.
This position requires a natural ability to lead presentations for students and mixed audience groups, a passion for history and a talent to communicate knowledge in an engaging way. The position requires considerable travel within an approximately 100-mile radius of the Museum; a valid driver’s license is necessary. Candidate should be comfortable driving in all weather and traffic conditions and have a flexible schedule that allows for early morning and evening hours. The position requires moderate physical activity, the candidate should have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Candidate must be punctual and reliable; excellent time management, problem-solving, and social skills are essential. Teaching experience preferred, and/or experience leading youth programs, and/or best practices in museum education.
Three year term position with the possibility of extension.
