Boats and Boating<\/em> illustrates the importance of boats for transportation and for leisure in the Adirondacks. More than fifty boats are on exhibit each year. Featuring displays of guideboats \u2014 an indigenous craft \u2014 and wooden canoes built by John Henry Rushton, including the Sairy Gamp, a ten and one-half pound canoe on loan from the Smithsonian Institution. Also on view is the 1905 Gold Cup race boat\u202fSkeeter<\/i>.<\/p>\n
