Oppersdorff ten\u00eda el don de captar la personalidad de sus sujetos. En el libro&nbsp;<em>Rostros de Adirondack<\/em>Los sensibles retratos de Oppersdorff, encargados por el Museo Adirondack en 1986, demuestran que el car\u00e1cter de un lugar se refleja en los rostros de su comunidad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En la introducci\u00f3n del libro, escribi\u00f3: \"Desde el principio, quise situar a mis sujetos en su propio entorno. Conoc\u00ed a todos mis sujetos en su propio terreno\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oppersdorff recibi\u00f3 elogios internacionales por su trabajo a lo largo de su carrera. Hijo de un conde austriaco, viaj\u00f3 mucho haciendo fotograf\u00edas para&nbsp;<em>Revista Gourmet, Revista GEO, Historia Natural, Diversi\u00f3n, Nikon World, Fotograf\u00eda Popular<\/em>y&nbsp;<em>Conde Nast Traveler<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mathias T. Oppersdorff falleci\u00f3 el 26 de enero de 2010 cerca de su casa en Rhode Island a la edad de setenta y cuatro a\u00f1os.
