Minnow Pond is a remote water body located 3/4 mile from the museum’s main campus. You have the opportunity to explore the trail and take in the beauty of the pond with a visit to the Adirondack Experience!
Early Adirondack photographer and travel writer Seneca Ray Stoddard noted in his seminal guidebook, “The Adirondacks,” that Mr. Merwin, proprietor of the Blue Mountain House hotel, kept Minnow Pond stocked with trout as a private reserve for his guests’ fishing, and would recommend the hike to his patrons.
