Spend the day at remote Great Camp Santanoni, located on its own lake and surrounded by thousands of acres of pristine wilderness in the heart of the Adirondack Park. Enjoy a leisurely horse-drawn carriage ride along the 4.8 mile road to the restored 1896 estate. Pack your own lunch and beverage to enjoy by the lake, inside the Japanese-inspired buildings, or under the same extensive porch that sheltered summer guest Theodore Roosevelt. On your privately guided tour, learn the happy as well as tragic backgrounds of the families who owned and ultimately gave up this National Historic Landmark property. Price includes a history booklet, round-trip reservations on a horse-drawn carriage, private tour led by Adirondack Architectural Heritage (AARCH) staff, and donation toward the site’s preservation. Remember to pack a lunch! For reservations, call AARCH at 518-834-9328. Please have your credit card number and ADKX membership ID number available.
