$60 for ADKX members; $70 for non-members

Deepen your love of nature with close observation, curiosity and sharpened awareness as you learn to draw. Whether for a scrapbook, journal or sketchbook, or pictures for framing, learn the basic drawing skills to capture nature’s beauty and bring it home.
You will learn to:
– Use the proper tools and materials to draw from nature
– Develop a visual vocabulary for describing your subject
– Train your eye to see and show important features
– Use the play of light to introduce volume and realism
Proper skills and close observation are all that’s needed. You will learn that no special talent is required to produce drawings from nature! We will be focusing on plants in this workshop, but the skills learned can be used with many subjects in nature.
Cynthia Rice grew up in the woods and fields of the Adirondacks and Vermont. She studied art and botany at Smith College and spent her professional career as a landscape architect.
