An introductory basket making class for new and experienced basket makers. All attendees will be provided a hands-on demonstration for preparing black ash materials and a cultural background on basket making. All participants will be provided with splints, forms, and handles to complete a black ash berry basket by the end of the class.

• –All materials and tools will be provided.
• –Participants are welcome to bring food, drinks, and snacks for the day. Museum admission is included in the workshop fee. (Please note that basket completion takes about 4 hours.)
• –Comfortable shoes are recommended.

Registered participants must meet in the ADKX Visitor Center by 9:45.

Cancellation Policy: If the Adirondack Experience is required to cancel the workshop due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, customers will receive a full refund. There will be no refunds for no-shows.

“I am a sixth-generation basketmaker from Akwesasne, New York. I make really thick, sturdy baskets for laundry hampers and holding babies and vegetables from the garden.
