Le Log Hotel incarne l'\u00e9volution de l'\u00e9conomie des Adirondacks. Construit \u00e0 l'origine comme un campement de b\u00fbcherons, il a ensuite \u00e9t\u00e9 converti en h\u00f4tel pour touristes. Tous les autres premiers h\u00f4tels de Blue Mountain Lake ont aujourd'hui disparu, y compris le Prospect House, premier h\u00f4tel des \u00c9tats-Unis \u00e0 \u00eatre \u00e9clair\u00e9 \u00e0 l'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9. Le Log Hotel est un monument de l'histoire r\u00e9gionale.<\/p>\n<p>Le mus\u00e9e s'occupe de l'h\u00f4tel en rondins depuis 1954, mais une r\u00e9cente \u00e9valuation compl\u00e8te a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 que l'entretien de routine ne suffirait plus \u00e0 pr\u00e9server la structure. En 2012, les fondations ont \u00e9t\u00e9 stabilis\u00e9es et en 2023, l'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 a \u00e9t\u00e9 am\u00e9lior\u00e9e, mais il faut aller plus loin pour pr\u00e9server au mieux cette structure historique pour les ann\u00e9es \u00e0 venir. Les priorit\u00e9s en mati\u00e8re de restauration sont les suivantes : renforcer le toit et remplacer les bardeaux, r\u00e9parer les rondins et restaurer le bardage, stabiliser davantage les piliers, et d\u00e9monter et reconstruire la chemin\u00e9e.
