Les Adirondacks ont surv\u00e9cu \u00e0 deux grands incendies de for\u00eat au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 1900. Le \u201cBig Burn\u201d de 1903 a d\u00e9truit un nombre incalculable de maisons et 464 000 acres de for\u00eat. En 1908, un autre incendie a br\u00fbl\u00e9 environ 600 000 acres. Aussi d\u00e9vastateurs qu'aient \u00e9t\u00e9 ces \u00e9v\u00e9nements, ils ont contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation du service forestier de l'\u00c9tat de New York.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>
