Le sentier s'\u00e9tend sur un kilom\u00e8tre et demi et un peu plus jusqu'\u00e0 des corniches offrant de superbes vues, si le temps le permet. Goodman Mountain (2 176 pieds) porte le nom d'Andrew Goodman, l'un des trois militants nordistes des droits civiques qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 assassin\u00e9s dans le Mississippi au cours de ce que l'on a appel\u00e9 l'\u00e9t\u00e9 de la libert\u00e9 en 1964. Ancien National Park Ranger, il a travaill\u00e9 \u00e0 Acadia National Park et Gulf Islands National Seashore, a \u00e9t\u00e9 conservateur du Trailside Nature Museum \u00e0 Cross River, New York, a enseign\u00e9 l'\u00e9cologie sur le terrain pour la National Audubon Society et a \u00e9t\u00e9 naturaliste principal \u00e0 la Teatown Lake Reservation \u00e0 Ossining, New York. Ed a des racines profondes dans les Adirondacks.
