Using rare historic photographs and amusing anecdotes, Dr. Kirschenbaum illuminates the camp\u2019s distinctive architecture, its colorful owners, and the President\u2019s ten-week Adirondack retreat. Settle in for a summer evening remembering one of the region\u2019s most charming Great Camps. It may have been named for the majestic pines, but as they said in the \u201820s, this place was simply the berries.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Howard Kirschenbaum<\/strong>\u00a0has spent decades at the forefront of preserving the Adirondacks\u2019 architectural treasures. A founder and longtime leader of Adirondack Architectural Heritage (AARCH), he has played a central role in saving and stewarding Great Camps such as Sagamore, Uncas, Santanoni, and White Pine. His deep expertise in historic preservation is matched by his authorship of widely respected books on Sagamore, Santanoni, and White Pine Camp. Today he remains one of the most knowledgeable and passionate advocates for the region\u2019s architectural heritage.<\/p>\n
