Join us for a special guided tour with Penny Harr, Exhibit Assistant at the Adirondack Experience and author of the forthcoming biography\u00a0Anne LaBastille: A Biography of the Woodswoman<\/em>. <\/a><\/h2>\n

As part of our continued celebration of the 50th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary of\u00a0Woodswoman<\/em><\/a>, these tours offer a deeper look into the life and work of Anne LaBastille.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Penny will lead visitors through selections from the museum’s library and archival collections before heading to\u00a0La vie dans les Adirondacks<\/em>, our main exhibit exploring the Adirondack Park and its people, to visit Anne LaBastille\u2019s cabin. Drawing on her extensive research and personal insight, Penny brings to life Anne LaBastille’s work as a writer, wildlife ecologist, and conservationist, as well as the independence and vision that defined her time in the Adirondacks.<\/p>\n

Afterwards, at 3 PM, Penny will be at ADKX store where you can purchase a signed copy of her forthcoming biography.<\/p>\n

There is no cost to attend the tour, but museum admission is required (free for ADKX members). Capacity is limited and pre-registration is required.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Penny Harr<\/strong> is a seventh-generation Adirondacker who grew up among the region\u2019s mountains and lakes. She is an Exhibit Assistant at the Adirondack Experience, The Museum on Blue Mountain Lake.
\nIn addition to being an avid reader, she enjoys kayaking, hiking, and exploring historical sites around the Northeast. Her love of the Adirondacks and its preservation make her a kindred spirit with Anne LaBastille. She lives in the Adirondack Park where she raised her two children.<\/p>\n
