Adventures with Adirondack Guides
From Alvah Dunning to Julia Adella Burton Preston to the almost 7000 currently licensed guides in New York State, the Adirondack Guide is a person of legend within the region.
Explore the legendary world of the Adirondack Guide through three distinct programs—an afternoon outing, a catered picnic dinner, and an evening panel—with the flexibility to attend any or all by registering for each session individually.
Outings
During the afternoon, take your own guided adventure with a walk down ADKX’s Minnow Pond Trail, a hike up nearby Castle Rock, or a paddle on Blue Mountain Lake.

Picnic Buffet Dinner
Join us for a catered picnic buffet dinner under the Marion River Carry Pavilion before the evening program “Adventures with Adirondack Guides”. And it’s a perfect way to fill up after an afternoon hike or paddle! (Tickets required) Menu includes:

Panel Discussion
Enjoy an evening of tall tales, true stories, and romantic history through a moderated conversation with three remarkable Adirondack Guides. Throughout this moderated discussion, you’ll hear about what it take to become an Adirondack guide, their history and traditions, the training required, and favorite exploits and adventures.
The panel discussion is free for all (donations welcome).
