Onsite Housing

Onsite housing is available for some seasonal employees. Each housing unit includes a shared living room, kitchen, and bathroom. Room occupancies are either single or double. Hiking trails and other outdoor recreational activities are available right at your doorstep.

Reciprocal Program

Our reciprocal program allows staff members to visit roughly 50 museums and attractions in the Adirondack Region for FREE or a discounted rate and bring up to 3 guests. Not only do you get to work on a gorgeous campus with a diverse and motivated team, you get to explore as well.

Facilities Manager

The ADKX is currently looking for a Facilities Manager to supervise and coordinate the workflow of the Facilities staff, manage campus construction and repair, and serve as the main point of contact for institutional operations, activities, and public programs. This position is responsible for overseeing the routine maintenance, repair, and cleaning of the museum’s buildings and grounds. This includes exhibit galleries, collection storage areas, administrative and support buildings, parking areas, lawns, gardens, paths and roads; utility and heating, security, and HVAC systems as well as museum vehicles and maintenance equipment.


Bourses d'études

The Adirondack Experience awards three short-term research fellowships annually. Applications for the 2025-2026 academic year will be accepted starting October 1, 2024 with a final deadline of February 1, 2025.

The Adirondack Experience is looking for a motivated individual to help maintain the cleanliness of our exquisite campus and exhibitions as a seasonal, part-time Facilities Cleaning Assistant. This position plays a pivotal role at our organization, as the Facilities Cleaning Assistant is responsible for cleaning exhibits, buildings and campus. This includes but not limited to all of the museum’s exhibits, collection storage facility, restroom areas, office buildings, retail operations, café operations, residences, grounds and parking lots.
