Ezra is excited to share how Green Goat Maps came to be what it is today. He’ll cover how and why Green Goat Maps came to be as well as how his team is influencing recreation and policy decisions across the state. He’ll also share the progress they have made in supporting accessibility efforts of land trusts and in welcoming a more diverse group of recreationists. He’ll share examples of maps and interpretive kiosks that are scattered around the state while explaining how and why they were designed in the way they are.
À propos de l'orateur :
Ezra Schwartzberg Ezra est originaire de Saranac Lake et a passé 10 ans à travailler dans le milieu universitaire au Kentucky, en Pennsylvanie et au Wisconsin pour étudier les espèces envahissantes. Ezra est revenu à Saranac Lake en 2012 avec l'objectif d'utiliser sa passion pour la recherche afin d'améliorer les problèmes sociaux et environnementaux de la région. Cela l'a conduit à effectuer des études de terrain sur les espèces invasives, puis à créer de magnifiques cartes. Ces dernières années, les cartes qu'il réalise avec son équipe ont pris une vie propre — working their way into stores as waterproof outdoor recreation maps, onto nature preserves in the form of wayfinding and trailhead kiosks, and into research studies for invasive species management.
