Employee Perks

Onsite Housing

Onsite housing is available for some seasonal employees. Each housing unit includes a shared living room, kitchen, and bathroom. Room occupancies are either single or double. Hiking trails and other outdoor recreational activities are available right at your doorstep.

Reciprocal Program

Our reciprocal program allows staff members to visit roughly 50 museums and attractions in the Adirondack Region for FREE or a discounted rate and bring up to 3 guests. Not only do you get to work on a gorgeous campus with a diverse and motivated team, you get to explore as well.

Fringe Benefits

We offer a rich benefit package to our year-round employees that includes paid time off, health, dental, vision, and supplemental insurances at an affordable rate, and a generous contribution to a 403b plan with no match required. Flexible scheduling and hybrid-remote work is also allowed for some positions during the closed season. Potlucks and staff gatherings are also a must!

Membership

All staff receive a complementary family membership while employed. This membership includes admission for two Members AND all accompanied children (age 17 and under). Benefits also include free or discounted admission to special programs, access to member-only sales, events, & tours.

Public Programs Assistant Manager

The Public Programs Assistant Manager reports to the Public Programs Manager and provides additional oversight of Exhibit Assistants to ensure excellent customer service and high quality visitor experiences. The Public Programs Assistant Manager supports the Public Programs Manager in facilitating interactive elements of exhibitions and training staff to engage visitors with the campus and the rich history and culture of the Adirondacks through informal education and interpretation.

We are looking for a creative, energetic, and knowledgeable Café Manager/Chef to manage the Lake View Café’s operation. The main responsibilities of the position include oversight of the Lake View Café operations, menu planning and product ordering, supervision and scheduling of Café Assistants, and other administrative tasks.
