A noun is a person, place, or thing.
Examples: child, chipmunk, mountain, restaurant, student, stream, trail, tree, truck
A verb is an action word.
Examples: climb, dance, eat, march, paddle, sing, stretch, talk, wave
An adjective is a describing word. Adjectives describe nouns and pronouns.
Examples: bubbly, cute, furry, fuzzy, milky, red, warm, wet, wild
An adverb describes a verb. They tell how something is done. They usually end in ‘ly” but not always.
Examples: carefully, happily, loudly, quickly, quietly, slowly, softly
On the form, we will ask for the type of word needed and will have some notes in parentheses.
We may occasionally ask for a specific word such as a number, a place, or an animal instead of asking for a noun, verb, adjective, or adverb.
The notes will tell you if you are entering the first, second, or third verb or noun.
If the note includes the word (plural) in note, please add ‘s’ or ‘es’ to make your word plural. We may also ask for words to end a certain way (like: end with ‘ly’ or ‘est.’)
