Minnow Pond Trail with Alexander Stewart
This easy to moderate 3/4 mile trail is located right on ADKX property. Meander down to the ADKX boathouse, located on Minnow Pond, while taking in the scenery and learning more about the geology of the Adirondacks.
Meet at the trailhead at 1:30 pm.
What to Bring: Proper footwear for a hike like sneakers or boots, appropriate clothing, water and snacks if desired.

Dr. Alexander Stewart is an Associate Professor of Geology at St. Lawrence University, specializing in glacial geology and tree-ring science. A retired U.S. Army veteran, his research explores environmental histories through landscapes and archaeological sites, with numerous publications in glacial landforms, hydrology, and dendrochronology.
He has led field courses across Alaska, Iceland, East Africa, and more, inspiring students through hands-on exploration. His passion for biodiversity has also led to the co-discovery of six new scorpion species. As national president of Sigma Gamma Epsilon, he helps shape the future of Earth sciences. Dr. Stewart is a frequent media contributor and continues tree-ring research in the Adirondacks, often hiking with his family.
