Stories help connect us to place. We all have our favorites – folklore passed down for generations; silly tall tales that tickle our funny bones; and local legends that are somehow believable. The Adirondacks is a very special place to everyone who lives here and to those who visit. New stories and memories are always being created. Join us for Folklore Fridays to hear stories of regional legend and lore and learn how to create your own tall tale.
Welcome back to another Folklore Friday! This time we explore one of Harvey Carr’s tall tales, “Gardening”. Gardens are a great way to connect with nature and wildlife.
Adirondackers have always had to deal with pesky bugs; listen to a couple tall tales of how the lumberjacks handled it.
This time we explore a Tall Tale from William Henry Harrison Murray.
William HH Murray and his adventures in the wilderness.
