The beauty and simplicity found in nature inspires the contemporary hand hooked rugs of Liz Alpert Fay. The artist captures the joy experienced when encountering the unexpected or surprisingly beautiful and portrays it in a way that also calls attention to environmental issues. In this presentation, a selection of colorful, abstract rugs will be discussed and their stories revealed.

This program is free.

About The Speaker:

Liz Alpert Fay learned the technique of traditional rug hooking in 1998. Since then, the artist’s studio practice has evolved to include innovative contemporary hand hooked rugs and large- scale hooked art installations. These works have been included in many juried shows, invitational museum exhibitions, and private and museum collections.
