The Complete Guide to Building Mountain Strength, Endurance, and Confidence for Hiking and Backpacking is a practical training guide designed to help hikers prepare their bodies specifically for the demands of the trail.

Rather than simply telling hikers to walk more miles or do more cardio, Hike Strong teaches readers how to combine strength training, conditioning, balance, mobility, and hiking-specific preparation to become stronger and more resilient in the mountains.

The book gives readers a step-by-step framework for developing the strength needed for steep climbs and descents, the endurance required for long days on trail, and the confidence to take on bigger hiking and backpacking objectives. It is written for everyone from recreational hikers who want the trail to feel easier to experienced hikers preparing for more ambitious mountain adventures.

Hike Strong was published by Falcon Guides in April 2026.
